Local SEO and AI Search Visibility (GEO) for Service Businesses
CyberGipsy builds local search visibility on two fronts at once: classic local SEO for maps and organic results, and GEO for AI answer engines that increasingly recommend suppliers directly. The output is a service and district page structure, a fully worked map profile, and content that AI systems can quote.
Definition. GEO, or generative engine optimization, is the practice of structuring content so that AI answer engines can extract, trust and cite it when a user asks for a recommendation.
The problem this removes
- You rank for your own company name and nothing else.
- Your map profile has four photos, two reviews and the wrong opening hours.
- Customers now ask an AI assistant for a recommendation, and it has never heard of you.
What we actually build
Map profile rebuild
Categories, services, service areas, attributes, hours, photos, posts, Q&A, all completed properly.
Service x district architecture
A page for each service in each district that has real search volume. No thin duplicates.
Local content engine
Project pages, before and after galleries, local guides, seasonal advice.
Citations and directories
Consistent name, address and phone across the directories that matter in your specific city.
Review engine
Systematic review collection, because reviews drive both map ranking and AI recommendations.
GEO layer
Answer-first paragraphs, entity clarity, structured data, extractable facts, original benchmark data, llms.txt.
Measurement
Map impressions, calls and direction requests, organic positions, and tracked citations in AI answers.
How the install works
Five steps. Nothing here is a workshop.
Local keyword and district research
What people in your city actually type, including local vocabulary.
Fix the foundations
Profile, technical health, speed, schema, internal links.
Publish the structure
Service and district pages built to a template that both search engines and AI models can parse.
Earn the signals
Reviews, local links, project proof, mentions in local sources.
Track and expand
Add districts and services in the order of measured return.
What changes, in numbers
Honest ranges from installs of this type. Your baseline is measured during the diagnostic so the comparison is yours, not an industry average.
| Measure | Typical before | After install |
|---|---|---|
| Complete map profile fields | 40-60% | 100% |
| Indexed service pages | 1-3 | 20-60 |
| Pages with structured data | 0 | All |
| Review requests sent | Ad hoc | Every completed job |
| Visibility in AI answers | Untracked | Tracked monthly |
What AI will not do here
Local SEO is not instant. Map results can move within weeks, but organic positions for competitive city terms usually take three to six months. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is either buying ads or lying. GEO is newer still, and the way AI engines choose sources is changing constantly, so we treat it as a discipline of continuous testing, not a fixed checklist.
Local SEO, GEO & AI Search Visibility: questions we get asked
What is the difference between SEO and GEO?
SEO gets you a position in a list of links. GEO gets you named inside an answer. They share foundations, but GEO rewards clear definitions, extractable facts, original data and consistent entity information far more heavily than link-building.
How long until I see results?
Map profile improvements often show within two to six weeks. Organic city-level rankings usually take three to six months. We report leading indicators monthly so you are not waiting blind.
Do I need a separate page for every district?
Only for districts with real demand and real differences. Mass-produced near-identical pages are treated as spam and hurt you. We build fewer, better pages with genuinely local content.
How many reviews do I need?
More than the competitor ranking above you, and arriving steadily rather than in bursts. The pattern matters as much as the count, which is why we automate the request at job completion.
Can you guarantee rankings?
No, and neither can anyone else. We guarantee the work, the structure and the reporting. Rankings are an outcome we influence, not a switch we control.
Does this work outside Google?
Yes. Depending on the city we also work Apple Maps, Bing, Yandex, Naver, Baidu and the local marketplaces that actually drive jobs there. The channel mix is set per city.
